The truth And What You Believe Are Two Different Things,

  1. The Story Behind The Poem

The truth and what I believe are two different things,

I believe I am worthless

I believe I do not matter,

I believe I should die,

That I do not belong here,

Not anywhere wonderful

This is what I believe

But this is the truth

The truth is that I carry God’s worth,

He called me by name,

Long before I was born,

I am made in his image,

I have the power to command light in the darkness,

I have the Holy Spirit with me,

And in me!

The truth is that I matter to God

There is a purpose for my life,

He has carved the path long before I was born,

And as such, I am important!

The truth is that In him, I have eternal life,

Starting where I stand,

Because his Son died and bled on the cross,

I don’t have to!

The truth is that I belong under the shadow of his wings,

Where I am safe,

Where I am loved,

Where I am seen,

His ear is always listening,

When I speak, I am heard,

And I am welcome to stay!

This is God’s worth I carry in me: His hope, joy, peace, love, power, spirit and ultimately, the Salvation given to us by his Son Jesus Christ!

That was the truth!
